Common Problem

Q

What are the characteristics of Hall current sensors?

A

Hall current sensors have a variety of features, including:

1, high accuracy: the accuracy of Hall current sensor in the working area is usually better than 1%, suitable for various waveform measurement.

2, good linearity: linearity is better than 0.5%, can ensure the accuracy of measurement results.

3, good dynamic performance: dynamic response time is less than 7 microseconds, high tracking speed, suitable for rapidly changing current measurement.

4, overload capacity: the measurement range is large, can withstand large overload current without damage.

5, non-contact measurement: Hall current sensor by measuring the magnetic field to sense the current, without direct contact with the measured circuit, so it has the advantage of isolation measurement.

Q

How does a Hall current sensor work?

A
The working principle of Hall current sensors is based on the Hall effect. When an electric current passes through a conductor, it creates a magnetic field around the conductor. A Hall element is a semiconductor material, and when a magnetic field acts on a Hall element, it creates an electric potential difference on both sides of it, which is called a Hall voltage. The magnitude of the Hall voltage is proportional to the product of the control current and the magnetic induction intensity. Therefore, the current of the current-carrying conductor can be measured indirectly by measuring the Hall voltage.
Q

How to deal with transformer shell rupture?

A
When the transformer shell is broken, stop the transformer and notify the maintenance personnel for handling. A broken shell may cause internal moisture damage and insulation damage to the transformer.
Q

How to deal with spark discharge between the transformer lead and the housing?

A
When it is found that there is a spark discharge between the transformer lead and the shell, the transformer should be stopped immediately, and the insulation of the lead and the shell should be checked. If the insulation is damaged, replace or repair it in time.
Q

How to deal with faults such as serious discharge sound, heat, smoke and burnt smell in the transformer?

A
When these faults occur, the transformer should be stopped immediately and the maintenance personnel should be notified to deal with it. These faults may be caused by internal insulation damage, winding short circuit and other reasons.
Q

Why is it not allowed to replace the primary fuse with an ordinary fuse after the voltage transformer is blown?

A
Taking 10kV voltage transformer as an example, the rated current of the primary side fuse is 0.5A. The fuses filled with quartz sand have better arc extinguishing performance, larger breaking capacity and limited short circuit
Q

Why should the secondary winding of the transformer be grounded?

A
The purpose of the secondary winding grounding of the transformer is to reduce the ground potential of the secondary system when the breakdown of the primary and secondary winding occurs. The smaller the grounding resistance, the lower the low potential, thus ensuring personal safety. In addition, grounding can also prevent the high potential caused by the damage of the first and second side insulation from causing harm to the equipment and human body.
