      At the end of September 2023, the national Transformer Standardization Technical Committee held a meeting for the "GB/T 20840.99 transformer Part 99: The corresponding International Electrotechnical Commission standard is IEC 61869-99 Instrument transformers-Part99:Glossary.


  With the emergence of "IEC 61869-99", there will be a significant change in the content of other standards in this standard system. That is, all the terms in the original Instrument transformers related standards are summarized into one standard, IEC 61869-99 Instrument transformers-Part99:Glossary, while previously there was a terminology section in each standard.

      The following is the introduction of "GB/T 20840.99 Transformer Part 99: Terminology" for reference:


      The formulation of the transformer standard is to establish a set of best evaluation criteria for the transformer, and provide guidance for the precautions required for the transformer from the aspects of raw material selection, design, production, inspection, selection, operation and maintenance. GB/T 20840 aims to establish the principles and relevant rules applicable to the design, manufacturing, testing, operation and maintenance of transformers, and is intended to be composed of 17 parts.


      Part 1: General technical requirements. The purpose is to establish the general technical requirements that are applicable to the design, manufacture and production test of various types of transformers.

      

      Part 2: Supplementary technical requirements for current transformers. The purpose is to establish the supplementary technical requirements for various types of current transformers;


      Part 3: Supplementary technical requirements for electromagnetic voltage transformers. The purpose is to establish the supplementary technical requirements for all kinds of electromagnetic voltage transformers.


      Part 4: Supplementary technical requirements for combined transformers. The purpose is to establish the supplementary technical requirements for all kinds of combined transformers.


      Part 5: Supplementary technical requirements for capacitive voltage transformers. The purpose is to establish the supplementary technical requirements for all kinds of capacitive voltage transformers.


      Part 6: Supplementary general technical requirements for low power transformers. The purpose is to establish the supplementary technical requirements for various types of low power transformers;


      Part 7: Supplementary technical requirements for electronic voltage transformers. The purpose is to establish the supplementary technical requirements for all kinds of electronic voltage transformers.


      Part 8: Electronic current transformer. The purpose is to establish the supplementary technical requirements for all kinds of electronic current transformers.


      Part 9: Digital interface of transformer. The purpose is to establish the technical requirements applicable to the digital interface of various electronic transformers.


      Part 10: Supplementary technical requirements for low power passive current transformers. The purpose is to establish the supplementary technical requirements for various types of low power passive current transformers.


      Part 11: Supplementary technical requirements for low power passive voltage transformers. The purpose is to establish the supplementary technical requirements for various types of low power passive voltage transformers.


      Part 14: Supplementary technical requirements for DC current transformers. The purpose is to establish the supplementary technical requirements for various types of DC current transformers.


      Part 15: Supplementary technical requirements for DC voltage transformers. The purpose is to establish the supplementary technical requirements for various types of DC voltage transformers.


      Part 99: Terminology


      Part 100: Application guidelines for current transformers for power system protection. The purpose is to provide guidance for the application of various types of current transformers in power system protection.


      Part 102: Ferromagnetic resonance in substations with electromagnetic voltage transformers. The purpose is to provide guidance on the generation mechanism and suppression of ferroresonance in substations with electromagnetic voltage transformers.


      Part 103: Application of transformers in power quality measurement. The purpose is to provide guidance for the application of various types of transformers in power quality measurement.


      GB/T 20840 defines the technical specifications of various transformer products through 17 parts, and gives specific technical requirements, test items, test procedures, test methods and operation guidance. By establishing the clear scope, terminology, technical requirements and test requirements of various products, the personnel engaged in the design, production, testing and use of related products can operate more clearly and accurately, so as to lay the foundation for the design and manufacture of high-quality products, better promote trade, exchange and technical cooperation, and provide protection for the normal operation of China's power grid.


      The definitions covered in this document are related to terms in the GB/T 20840 series standard, and the application of terms related to transformers is valid.


      The list of terms in this document is structured not by product family order, but by a logical order based on a conceptual hierarchy, that is, starting with the most general concepts, followed by more specific ones.
